    1. To highlight various research and application topics led by women where use of data science & technology is helping open up new frontiers

    1. Your session is planned 3:15-4:30PM
    2. Each presenters will have 10 minutes to speak after a brief intro by Cathy. The session will end by 15 min of Q&A

This free event is open to students, faculty and staff, will include sessions from top companies in AI such as Google, John Deere, and Synchrony. Students register at: go.illinois.edu/RegisterAI.

From Anita, 2/6: NCSA Colloquium Series: “Sports and Data Analysis”Join NCSA on Friday, Feb. 22 from 11 am - noon in the auditorium as we dive into this world of athletic data analysis with Illinois’ Director of Athletics Josh Whitman, Head Baseball Coach Dan Hartleb, Assistant Football Coach Kingsley Osei-Asibey, Associate Athletic Director Randy Ballard, Associate Athletic Director, Sports Technology Nick Rogers, and NCSA’s own Rob Sisneros. As the Big Data revolution moves forward, it has become increasingly critical to harness predictive technology for use in collegiate athletics. Data is now being collected on everything from individual player biometrics to a myriad of team statistics in order to improve training, performance and outcomes for the modern athlete. Sophisticated data analytics are also a necessary tool to improve the fan experience while attending athletic events. The panel will discuss their own experiences and observations of scientific data analysis and visualization in athletics as well as future trends.
