Pages, Paths, Tags, and Annotations
While Scalar brings a broad set of innovative tools to digital publishing, this path focuses on the relation of four features that make Scalar unique: Pages, Paths, Tags, and Annotations.
Pages are what you see in front of you. That is, 'Pages' are like a blog interface or the individual page of a website. They comprise everything you add within the text box, including media. To create a page, login to your project and click on your Dashboard. Now look for the 'Pages' tab, click it, then click 'Create New Page.' This will bring up a text box and various editing tools. You must title each page; however, providing a description is optional.
As you start typing in the text box, notice that you can edit each page in two formats: 'Visual' and 'HTML.' You are probably more familiar with writing in the 'Visual' interface across varying digital publishing platforms. As we learn to incorporate media, however, we will learn some basics about the 'HTML' interface to make the editing process easier.
Create a few different pages with different titles and save them. This is crucial step for linking pages together.
