Contemporary Differences Between Confucianism and Vodou

The main contemporary difference between Confucianism and Vodou in today's society is how they are perceived by the rest of the world. Confucianism is more positively recognized by the world as a life-improving idea. Due to a consolidated and powerful diplomatic system, China successfully spreads the ideas and concepts of Confucianism in East Asia and Western countries. Unlike Confucianism, Haitian people did not have strong enough power or economy to prevent western countries from sullying Vodou as an evil religion in history. Claudine Michel claims that Vodou was presented as sorcery, witchcraft, and in opposition to true western religions in the press of western countries (Michel 98). Those irresponsible and misleading reports and news forced people from the rest of the world to reject Vodou as a formal and beneficial religion.
