Conclusion

Poster sessions have only been used inside the academy since the 1970s, but the concept of a 2D composite of images and texts have been used long before for the purpose of information sharing and idea spreading. As responsible citizens and academics in the 21st century, we must critically examine both the information we are given and the platform on which we are consuming, creating and sharing this information. In an age where most consumption of information in the Academy begins with digital content, it is only a matter of time before assignments and projects of all fields of study shifts their platforms of creation to the digital. If we can change the ways we communicate information in the Academy and the systems through which we add value to such communicate, we can then allow ourselves the possibility of sharing not only more information, but also better information.
