The Shape of this Project

A poem about itself
can't begin
 in just one place,
one time.

This public humanities project explores some basic questions about digital objects, digital spaces, and digital displays.

This site's paths, which bend towards analogy and metaphor, contain speculative and partial replies to the questions above.

Some related questions are:

—Which digital analytical tools automate familiar tasks? Which ones perform new computational & statistical operations?

—Why do experimental representations of narrative – especially non-linear ones – seem or feel digital? Is there something properly digital about non-linearity?
