Human Trafficking in The US

Where it's happening

While my research was mainly on human trafficking in the Unites States as a whole, I chose to just focus on Pennsylvania for this map. My reasoning was because I am doing this research as a native Pennsylvanian who attends a school in the middle of PA, so I wanted to show the members of the community that human trafficking, specifically sex trafficking, is happening right under our noses in the cities that we are familiar with.
Due to the confidential nature of the data about reports of human trafficking, the only instances I was able to find were those reported in newspapers. Hence, each blue dot on the interactive map represents an article about an incident in which someone was arrested under the charges of sex trafficking or prostitution.
The articles come from a variety of newspapers and news stations, each from the areas where the incidents occurred.
