Drogon comes to his mothers aid and protects her from the assassins and killing many of them before taking off with her on his back. Drogon sets her down in a burnt field full of livestock carcasses. Albeit monsters, dragons are presented very differently in Game of Thrones where at this point Drogon is like a misbehaving son to Daenerys. Drogon here is used as the saviour while humans are depicted as the monster in an exciting role reversal. The humans are greedy and power hungry, both abhorrent qualities that result in the former Masters uprising to reinstitute slavery in their city. Here humans are the dragon where instead of gold, they hoard other humans.
