beloved nervous system is a sound art piece that evokes the uneven physical and emotional terrain of healing and ailing, asking, What is the sound of the chronically ill dancing body? What happens to dance when you can hear it but can’t see it? A collaboration between choreographer Cynthia Ling Lee and sound artist Anna Friz, both of whom are COVID-19 long-haulers, beloved nervous system is composed largely of sounds produced by Cynthia’s dancing body and electronics played by Anna with additional sounds contributed by Gabriel Saloman.
