12024-06-05T12:10:36-07:00Embroidery Patterns31plain2024-06-13T04:44:11-07:00Granny’s Box contained nearly fifty embroidery patterns which had been traced onto various types of paper, thick and precariously thin, small and large. Some of the tracings were on paper as large as 3' x 4'.
Mollie kept various colors of embroidery thread skeins, embroidery needles, which have a longer eye for threading, a thimble, and a pencil for tracing in a separate box which is pictured here.
Embroidery skeins contained six strands of thread. Three strands were usually used. Once the length of the strand needed was cut, the strands would be divided into threes. Mollie wrapped her unused or extra strands around envelopes and old thread spools to keep them from becoming tangled.
