Shōnen-ai another name for yaoi often less explicit and more romantic
Uke the ‘female” or submissive partner. Translations of uke as a word form include receive and accept. Usually smaller, younger, and less experienced than the seme. Could be seen as equivalent to “bottom.”
Yaoi Japanese fiction (usually manga) focusing on idealized gay relationships between bishōnen. Primarily written by women for women. Said to be an acronym for Yama nashi,ochi nashi, imi nashi -- No plot, no point, no meaning. Fujoshi also claim it means Yamete, oshiri ga itai "Stop, my ass hurts.”
