Buying a used surfboard

Surfing is one of the most popular sports in beaches. It is probably one of those sports which is deemed really cool thanks to Hollywood movies like Point break. Surfing and beach volleyball is the probably the most tried out sports on the beach. Trying out volleyball does not really need any experience. All you need is a net and a ball with two pairs of hands to play. On the other hand, surfing is not that easy. It is not played in every school across the globe and can be really dangerous if the surfer loses concentration. Surfing is not just about showing your hot body (neither is beach volleyball but you can do it and not lose your life or limbs) but more about balance and concentration. Like any other sport, it is an art but can be really dangerous at the same time.

For Amateurs

People who are starting with surfing should have a really good trainer (I mean that is always a must). The second obvious thing you need is a surfboard. Now the thing with surfing is, not everyone who set out to learn surfing end up doing it for their life even as a hobby (It is not like playing guitar, you know). So the clever thing to do during the training and trial period is to buy a used surfboard. Now while buying a used surfboard it is very important that the buyer knows what they are getting into. Often it happens that amateur surfers buy a board but they do not know what they are really looking for. It is advisable to have your trainer take a look at the board before you buy. The trainer should be a trusted person because a lot of times trainers and sellers have a pact (basically they get a commission for every faulty board they help to get sold). If you do not have trusted trainers then change your trainer and look for the basic tips to buy a surfboard.
