Male Role

The portrayal of males also have huge effects on players. Its more accepted of males to be much more muscular. Their personality are usually dark and mysterious. They are often viewed as a rebel. In fact, hegemonic masculinity is more valued (3). Although some would argue that a muscular body can be a motivation to be healthier, it creates the judgment of what is the ideal look and what is not. A study shows that male who are exposed to unrealistic muscular action figure have a negative attitudes towards their own body rather than being exposed to a normal muscle mass (7). Unrealistic body can be shown in video games.
