Nicole on the Body as a Site Of Change

Nicole came to improvisation and acting as a young child. Her inspirations were strong women like Gilda Radner and Whoopi Goldberg. She found power in the ways these women used their skills to create their own scripts, to be subversive through their use of comedy. Improvisation gave Nicole a way to create embodied characters to say things that she didn’t feel comfortable or couldn’t say otherwise.

As someone who has experienced discrimination and bullying, Nicole uses improvisation to consider how we use it to “make people think differently.”
