Health and Safety

Items that deal with “health and safety” speak to the ways in which food can impact a person’s risk of chronic hunger, obesity, metabolic syndrome, or other diet-related diseases like diabetes and heart disease. Items that describe contamination, the transfer of foodborne illness, or the inducement of allergic reactions may also describe “health / safety” -- as may items about the health and safety of food system employment situations, although these are more likely noted under fairness.
