Diversity & Food Culture
Separate from the subjective criteria that make up an individual’s tastes, “food culture” refers the role that particular foods play in a person’s social environment. If an item describes the connotations or functions of a food practice within a culture, or if it highlights the different connotations or functions that food has across cultures, it describes the food’s value in terms of its production of “diversity and food culture”.
