Marketing

Marketing is usually understood as the promotion of particular goods or services


The word market can be used...
  • As a noun,
    • a general term referring to the entire commercial system (eg. "on the market," "market standards")
    • less generally, a specific category of the system (eg. restaurants, grocers, "the organic market")
    • a specific physical location where goods are offered for sale (eg. farmers' market)
  •  As a verb,
    •  to promote/sell goods or services
For example, Models and Strategies for a Produce Distribution Plan deals with all three of its meanings as a noun.
