After thinking it through and talking to Professor McIntosh about it, I finally figured it out. While I was writing my paper, the flow was easy and the paper seemed like a light one to me. However, before starting my paper I had to think about whether I wanted my reflection to be at the beginning, at the end, or just mixed in with the rest of the paper. I decided to just start writing it and by the time I finished my paper, I realized that my reflection was placed at the end of my paper. As I wrote the paper, I tried to make it as interesting as possible so that the reader would enjoy reading it. I also tried to make it as organized as possible to avoid confusion in the reader. I asked myself if maybe anyone could relate or connect to my experience, how I felt and how I reflected upon it.
  
  
  
  
      As i was writing this paper, the rhetorical terms discussed in class played a big role in how i wanted to write my paper. I had to think about who my audience was, what the purpose of the paper was going to be, and what made me choose this topic to be the center of my literacy narrative. With these in mind, i had to choose the tone of my essay, the language i would want to use and a final purpose to my writing which would be a gateway into the reader connecting with my paper/experience. I decided that my audience would be high school student since the essay competition discussed in the paper is only for high school juniors. I also picked high school students as my audience since the reflection of this paper was not giving up. I believe that a lot of high school students need to read other people's experience in order to be motivated and push forward. This also ties into the purpose of my paper which was to not only reflect on that experience but also have other kids know that there is nothing you cant do you just have to try.  I decided to write on this experience because this was the only thing truly life changing that has happened in my life. I dreamed about winning the competition since i was a freshmen in high school and to actually win makes it worth writing about.  
     For this paper, the readings in the writing guide we did prior to starting the essay really helped and enhanced my understanding of what a literacy narrative was. Outside resources were not needed in this essay since it was solely based on personal experience. 
  
      After submitting the first draft of my paper, my peer read it in class and gave me positive feedback. My peer said that my paper was easy to follow and understand. Nonetheless, he told me that i should add more to my introductory paragraph. He believed that my introduction needed more writing about how i felt and my emotions during that time period. However, when professor McIntosh read it, she pointed out how I had a couple run on sentences here and there which I did notice while writing it yet thought they were okay to leave. I thought this because while reading the paper, it had a flow to it but when it comes to someone else reading it they aren’t reading it the same way I am. She also pointed out I lacked detail as well in some areas which I had trouble adding to because I had already reached the page limit. However, I tried to add more descriptive words to the entire paper so that the reader could be able to picture the story in their head. I also added more sentences as to how I felt at the time and how I feel now as well. This gave my paper a better understanding of what it was like to be me at that moment (what i was thinking, and feeling) and it produced a nice introductory paragraph to my paper. Overall, writing this paper was a good experience and it was a good way to reflect on an event that some of us don’t realize had a great impact on us.
