This image is called “Divided We Fall.” In this image, the background is a factory area. In front of these factories, a lot of people are surrounding the FDR. FDR is really giant and wearing black suit. Also, he is holding a poster which says “only victory can protect our freedom. If the freedom of any of us is lost, the freedom of all is lost.” It means we have to win the war because that is the only way to protect our freedom. Also, the poster indicates that everyone is part of our nation, we cannot leave anyone behind. FDR is trying his best to save everyone. On the bottom of the image, a horrible monster is holding a chain which is used for slaving people. The monster represents the Hitlerized world; FDR represents freedom, peace, and civilization. The reason I put this picture at the end of this book is because this piece shows FDR’s great personality and I think the idea of “do not leave anyone behind” is significant for the nation. I think this is the most important characteristic he has which makes him a legendary leader.
