With each fragment that is altered, memoirs from the narrator are revealed, presenting information regarding the narrator's relationship with her mother. Through the narrative, design, and mechanics of the literary work, aspects of this constrained mother-daughter dynamic in relation to the narrator's mother's handiwork skill are revealed to the reader.
