The trial is called by the sister

The trial does not end here until the young girl says so. She has accepted the new brother and ended what her father initiated--the renewal of the family. That she is given the most power and say not only reiterates the importance of young people in Dakota political security, but also demonstrates to the young woman listening to her grandmother's story that she is integral to her nation's wellbeing.
