"The Red Man's Greeting" is a small birch bark booklet, about the size of a person's palm, that was sold to attendees of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. The birch bark booklet insists upon its materiality; the grain of the tree is impossible to overlook and at times, the dark color of the grain makes reading the printed words a task that demands significant scrutiny.
