Marrant Cover Annotation 1

John Marrant’s narrative is around the size of a small notebook, around nine inches by six inches. The cover of the narrative stands out in comparison to the other pages in the text because as opposed to the pre-industrial paper that the text is printed on, the cover seems to be cardstock that was possibly added after the narrative’s creation. Additionally, there is a stark contrast in color between the cover page and the other pages; the narrative pages are dull-colored, while the cover page is vibrant and has a peacock-like aura incorporating the colors of maroon, blue, orange, and green. It is also fundamental to note that the cover can be separated from the text itself, so perhaps it was purposefully not bounded.
