Childhood tied to play and also serious consideration/respect

"A Warrior's Daughter" here sets up definitions of Yankton values as they relate to children. Tusee's relationship to adults is one of mutual enjoyment and laughter in which her thoughts and discernments are valued and enjoyed. This is contrasted to such depictions we saw in the "School Days" tale, in which the young girl is treated by white "educators" as a silent plaything.
