Faria is a Senior at Bravo Senior High Medical Magnet. She is the Associated Student Body (ASB) Historian, who monitors and coordinates several social media platforms. Bravo Medical Magnet started to use the group feature in the Leaning Management System (LMS), Schoology, to communicate school events and other general information to the ASB, staff, and parents. Faria currently monitors student groups created by Dr. Sinclair. She is responsible for updating events as well as moderating posts. In this interview Faria shares her experience on how Bravo Medical Magnet has personalized the LMS to communicate with the ASB, staff, and parents.

Personalization Example:

- Parent Community and Student Engagement
Bravo Medical Magnet uses the group feature in the LMS, Schoology, to inform about career opportunities, college applications, college campus visits, fundraising, and club activities. This communication engages students in school and community activities and informs them about possible career and college opportunities.
ISTE Standards Alignment:
- Empowered Learner
- Creative Communicator
The personalization practice exemplifies how Bravo Medical Magnet is using the LMS to address student needs, communicate events, and bridge communication between school and community. This is a clear example of how the LMS is being used in an authentic way to enhance communication and make resources available to students.Next Steps:
Faria’s next steps include continuing to archive school activities in the album section of Schoology and assisting other teachers in creating groups for their clubs. Her experience with her "A.P.E.’s" club has been very positive because members are able to interact even when they are not in physically present in school. The group has brought members closer and created a sense of family environment. She wants to be able to recreate the same type of atmosphere for other student clubs.
