Know Your App
The Prezi above is part of my "Know Your App" presentation. My presentation was on the app "Digg". Digg is a app that contains new articles. The whole premise of the app is that the more you click like or in this case digg, the more popular the story gets. This will push the story up higher in users "Top Stories" tab. If you do not want to read an article or you do not have time to do so, you cal click on the "Videos" tab and just watch videos on certain subjects.
This app also comes with a "Digg Deeper" tab. what this tab does is it takes the most shared stories on Digg and puts them in one convenient place. This way you can go into the app, find what is being talked about that day and be done with it. You do not have to search through every story to find what people are talking about.
Another great aspect of this app is that it not only keeps a running tab of what you 'digged" so that you can do back and view it at any time, this app also gives you the option to save articles and videos that you like. Along with the saving feature, a user can also create their own tabs on subjects that they are most interested in. For example, say that you love books. All you have to do it hit the menu in the top corner of the app, and hit where it says "add" at the bottom. Once the user does this, they will be given a list of topics that they can chose from so that they are only looking at articles and videos that pertain to that subject.
This is a great tool for school. As a student, I get assignments all the time that require me to find articles as a secondary source. This app is perfect for assignments like those because it is easy to narrow your search by topic. Current events will no longer be stressful for a student because all they will have to do is click on their "dig deeper" tab. This app is so quick and easy to use that it can be used by just about anyone.
During my presentation, I used screenshots of the app itself to create a walk-through of how the app can be used. I decided to start with a blank prezi, or better yet, my professor decided that we would all start with a blank prezi, and I created the surface of an ipad. The screenshots themselves were made to look like apps. As I went through my presentation, I used a liner design. Everything flowed from left to right and top to bottom. Although I normally incorporate at least some text into my presentations, on this particular prezi, I decided not to. I believed that the use of text would take away from the design that I had created. This presentation was used as a tool to back up my oral presentation and I believe that it did a great job in doing so.
