The Silver Buckle Food Puzzle

Games can be a great way to advertise products: people who have fun playing the game associate the product with having fun, making them more likely to buy it later. The game can also introduce new people to the product, if someone new comes over to play.

The Silver Buckle Food Puzzle came out in 1911. It was made by the E. R. Godfrey & Sons Company, who owned the Silver Buckle Coffee brand. The game consisted of a game board with 20 squares drawn onto it and 19 tokens. Each token had the name of a food written on it, as did 19 of the 20 squares. The rules were simple: randomly spread the tokens across the board and, moving the tokens one at a time, match the tokens to the game board squares.
