Finding Information
You can get little results depending on what you are searching for, and shipbreaking comes in many different searchable forms.
As you can see from the graph above the term yielding the most results is "ship breaking", this comes from news and articles searched on Google. If you look for books on the subject you have to take a slightly different route. The graph below shows the frequency that the words/phrases occur in sourced books from 1900-2010. As you can see there is a bit of a change between ship breaking, shipbreaking and ship-breaking, "shipbreaking" being the most popular in later years. This is important because depending on how you search for this you may end up with different results.
For this topic I found the news articles more relevant as they are constantly being updated and don't have to go through such a process as peer reviewed articles. You can also get many points of view through the news, but as I predicted there is an overwhelming amount of negativity toward the industry. That being said there are ways to "fix" it to please almost everyone.
