Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 2 Page 2 contains ephemera related to the Fifty-First Commencement Ceremonies of Connecticut College. This includes: An invitation to the Fifty-First Commencement Ceremony; a commencement program outlining the commencement events on June 7th and 8th 1969; a ticket for the Baccalaureate Services held on June 7, 1969; a ticket to the Class Day Exercises held on June 7, 1969; and a ticket to the Commencement Exercises held on June 8, 1969. A small stub indicating the day and location of Linda's comprehensive examination is also attached to this page.

Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 7 Page 7 holds two different collages created by Abel. The first collage focuses on the theme of love. The second is entitled '1966'; its theme relates to its title, the year 1966. This collage is adhered to the page underneath the Freshman Majors Program. The Freshman Majors Program contains listings of all Connecticut College's educational programs in 1966 and the dates, times, locations and faculty members hosting informational events on each one in April of 1966 for incoming freshmen. Adhered to the front of the program is a clipping of Zoology course offerings. Zoology was Linda's major during her years at Connecticut College.
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 9 Page 9 contains a variety of ephemera including: a Connecticut College campus map from the late 1960s; a schematic print of the Joanne and Nathan Cummings Art Center; Connecticut College's Alma Mater song from the late 1960s; a listing of students involved in the WCNI College Radio; a listing of students involved in the Library Committee, which includes Linda's name; a clipping of the travel prices on the New Haven Railroad in the late 1960s; a newspaper clipping from Linda's hometown North Attleboro, MA, indicating she made the Connecticut College Dean's List; and a small personal card addressed to Linda.
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 17 Page 17 includes a small fabric Princeton University flag; a clipping of a comedic illustration of the Campus Improvement Department; a handwritten note describing an unknown persons sadness over the "sudden passing of a mailbox"; an advertisement clipping for the revenge tragedy "The White Devil" by John Webster; a clipping of the name of a famous Italian chamber orchestra 'I Solisti Veneti'; and a humorous handwritten warning notice entitled "Your Entrance is Not Recommended" which describes the dangerous situations and disasters that exist beyond the door it was attached to.
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 25 Page 25 contains several paper clippings. These clippings include a Peanuts comic strip with Snoopy; several images of sheep; the inside of an elaborate library type building; a logo for the Yale Co-op in New Haven; an emblem written in German, which refers to two locations in Germany Krov and Mosel; clippings of the names of several inns including 'Lighthouse Inn,' 'New Haven Motor Inn' and 'Park Plaza Hotel / Chapel Square / New Haven,' which is also captioned by Linda "November 11/12, 1966 John Fosseen." John Fosseen was Linda's boyfriend in college and became her husband soon after her college graduation.
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 10 Page 10 has several paper based clippings related to a variety of different subjects. These include: a schematic drawing of the inside of the Joanne and Nathan Cummings Art Center from the late 1960s; three clippings of photographic images of microscopic organisms taken in 1969 with an electron microscope at Connecticut College; a circular clipping of an illustration with an unknown subject captioned "Merry Christmas 2 1/8 Sally Liebig 1968"; a newspaper clipping and image from an article discussing the three male students from Wesleyan who came to Connecticut College in 1969; and a small clipping of an image of college student mailboxes.
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 18 Page 18 includes a clipping of a newspaper article "Will Co-Education Come to Conn?" which was published in the Conn Census on Tuesday, February 28, 1967. It describes the co-educational stance of many institutions of higher education at the time including: Connecticut College, Yale, Vassar and Wesleyan. The page also contains several clippings from magazines including a clipping of the name 'The Princeton Triangle Club,' which refers to a theater troupe at Princeton University; and an illustration for 'High Sobriety: A Bright and Boisterous Spoof on the Schweppsi Generation,' which was a musical comedy performed by the Princeton Triangle club from 1965-1966.

Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 3 Page 3 contains ephemera related to Linda's Commencement Ceremony in June 1969. This includes: a white cloth anti- Vietnam armband worn during the Fifty-First Commencement Ceremony; A graduation rehearsal schedule for the Fifty- First Commencement Exercises; a small newspaper clipping indicating Linda Lee Abel received her degree and was the E. Frances Botsford Prize winner for excellency in Zoology; a letter from her instructor Bernice Wheeler congratulating Linda on her academic achievements; and a small unidentified coupon.
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 11 Page 11 contains two newspaper clippings of photographic images of unknown subjects; a hand drawn rendition of Charlie Brown holding a report card with a caption about happiness beneath; a print of a pair of boots made from a metal engraving plate, which was created in an art class Linda took at Connecticut College; and several small newspaper clippings announcing Linda as the recipient of the E. Frances Botsford Prize in Zoology, as a graduating Zoology major in 1969.

Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 27 Page 27 contains a small handmade card congratulating Linda on becoming a library representative at Connecticut College; a graduation card with Snoopy on the front; an image of two leaves; a small piece of paper with the Connecticut College emblem, which is captioned "One Today...Is Worth Two Tomorrows"; and a Connecticut College Daily Sign Out Sheet, which states Linda was leaving the college to go to Rocky Hill, Connecticut and the Yale Peabody Museum for a class.

Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 12 Page 12 contains a program from the 1969 Fathers' Weekend Event at Connecticut College; a ticket to the play entitled "The Funny the Not So Funny and the Kickline," which was performed in Connecticut College's Palmer Auditorium on May 10, 1969; two small calendars from May and June 1969, which Linda noted important dates on; and a clipping of an image of the Joanne and Nathan Cummings Art Center at Connecticut College with a caption beneath reading 'Vincent Scully Denounces "Up-Tight" Architecture.'
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 20 Page 20 includes a large print of an owl with the caption "Print Workshop 1969"; a newspaper clipping from Linda's hometown, North Attleboro, MA, announcing that Linda attained the dean's list for the first semester of the 1968-1969 academic year; a hand crafted piece of paper resembling a pumpkin, which reads "The Great Pumpkin was Here"; Four of Linda Lee Abel's Connecticut College report cards from 1966-1969; a paper clipping which indicates Linda's Connecticut College mailbox number; and a small tag which reads "Education replaces cocksure ignorance with thoughtful uncertainty - Salada Tag Lines."

Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 5 Page 5 contains assorted ephemera. There is a Boston Museum of Science pamphlet from the 1960s detailing the museum's exhibits and floor plans at the time; an article on college guides to datesmanship; a short clipping on how boys can easily get into Connecticut College for Women; a color illustration of an owl; a small tag made of construction paper which reads "Linda Lee Abel Library Rep"; and a clipping of a Josten's logo.
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 13 Page 13 contains a variety of ephemera including: a newspaper page containing three articles about the motivations, actions and anti-Vietnam sentiments behind the establishment of the Sala Sanctuary by M.I.T students in 1968; a ticket to the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, which was performed in the Palmer Auditorium at Connecticut College on March 13, 1969; a clipping of an advertisement for the Minneapolis Orchestra performance; an address written on a Connecticut College card for 'Music Productions' in Cambridge, MA, which Linda states is a "music agency that lists many rock and roll and folk groups"; and a program for the production of "13 Magnolias: Going with the Belles" performed by the Connecticut College Senior Melodrama on November 13, 1968.
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 21 Page 21 includes an eight page letter of introduction from Nita Mason, Linda's roommate during their freshman year at Connecticut College; a printed floor plan of Blackstone House, a Connecticut College dormitory building; a newspaper clipping entitled "From a Boys Point of View: That Weekend Date," which describes dating scenarios from a male's point of view; a clipping of a New York Times article entitled 'Well, Anyway, It Is Efficient,' which describes how the computer is acting as a romantic aid when it comes to finding potential dates and partners; a clipping of a paper from the company 'Contact' in Boylston, MA, which provided potential computer generated dating partners for Linda; and a newspaper clipping entitled "At Connecticut College: Colorful Academic Procession Highlights the First Assembly," which describes an academic procession at Connecticut College as it entered its 51st year.

Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 14 Page 14 contains a variety of paper-based ephemera related to Connecticut College. This includes an official letter of announcement from college president Charles E. Shain, stating that Connecticut College would become a coeducational institution in September 1969; a Senior Day flyer; a handwritten flyer for a lecture on college dating issues entitled "How to Deter Unwanted Advances"; a listing of sophomore class officers from 1966-1967, which lists Linda as a Library Rep; a Connecticut College student employee monthly time card; and a paper stub for the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System's 28th National Convention, which is captioned "Linda Abel WCNI." WCNI is a Connecticut College radio station, which Linda assisted with during her years at Connecticut College.
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 22 Page 22 contains a Connecticut College Bookshop receipt and textbook request form; a Connecticut College Remittance Advice slip; a handmade birthday card; a clipping of a student government invitation to a Holiday Reception; a handwritten poem; a handmade paper flower; a calendar of selected months between 1965-1966; a card indicating Linda was part of the Connecticut College Young Republicans; and Linda's class schedule for 1969.

Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 15 Page 15 contains a variety of handcrafted origami shapes; several paper and magazine clippings of patterned paper and names of various places and restaurants which were significant to Linda; a clipping of an advertisement and an illustration for the play 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead,' which was performed at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut in February 1969; a letter to the editor published in the ConnCensus, which was written by John Fosseen, who is now Linda's husband, about the Sala Sanctuary which took place at the M.I.T Student Center in 1968; a clipping of a description of the French comedy, drama and anti-war film 'The King of Hearts'; part of a Connecticut College event ticket stub; and a clipping of the Connecticut College emblem.
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 23 Page 23 contains a card indicating Linda's Connecticut College box number and combination; a positive response to a request for a change in dormitory assignment from May 1967; a list of undated upcoming events at Connecticut College; a card illustrated with a figure standing in the rain holding an umbrella; and a clipping of a newspaper heading, which reads "Does LSD in Sugar Cubes Spoil the Taste of Coffee????"

Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 8 Page 8 contains a full volume of the Connecticut College's student newspaper: Conn Census Vol. 50, No. 26, Thursday, September 30, 1965. Other newspaper clippings on the page include an article entitled "A Man's Opinion," which provides a young male college student's perspective on articles recently published in the Conn Census; and an Eastern travel company advertisement that claims it can help college students cure 'Summervacationitis' through its travel services. It also contains a two page 'Statement of Dogma' created by the M.U.S.H. or Mushrooms United for Sporadic Happiness! M.U.S.H. was created by students at Mount Holyoke College and this document describes their founding principles, beliefs and motivations.
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 16 Page 16 contains three small circular stickers, which read 'Up the Mini,' 'Darwin Lied to Us,' and 'Virtue Can Hurt You'; two comedic drawings of faces, which show Linda's dislike of the weekdays on one side and her happiness towards weekends on the other; two ripped ticket stubs from an unknown event; a ticket to a Yale vs. Princeton sports event held on Saturday November 16, 1968 at the Yale Bowl, a stadium at Yale; a clipping of the logo for 'The Coop-Harvard Cooperative Society-Harvard & M.I.T' which supplies essential textbooks, school supplies, dorm essentials, diplomas, class rings, etc. for the two schools; and a Connecticut College Overnight Absence from College card
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 24 Page 24 contains a Connecticut College Subject and Class Registration Card from September 1965, filled out by Linda to register for Zoology 102; an Introductory Week Individual Appointment Card indicating Linda's group number, house fellow, house junior, dorm and adviser; an empty envelope which more than likely contained information on the E. Frances Botsford Prize in Zoology, which Linda won in 1969; and a hand drawn illustration of Charlie Brown stating "Good Grief What a Week!!"
Linda Lee Abel Scrapbook, Page 32 Page 32 contains many handcrafted pieces. There is a cat made from a variety of pasted seeds; a drawing indicating college exam progression throughout the month of January; a name tag with Linda's name; and a colorful patterned drawing addressed to Linda at her Connecticut College box number. There is also a ticket from an event at the Connecticut College ConnQuest in 1966 where the well known American psychologist B.F. Skinner spoke.
