What is the Allentown Art Museum[LA1] ?

 [LA1]http://www.allentownartmuseum.org/visit-us/hours-directions

The Allentown Art Museum is a group led by Walter Emerson Baum founded the Allentown Art Museum on North Fifth Street in 1934. Today it has over 13,000 works of art, and is home to a well-stocked library of over 16,000 titles and 40 current periodicals. In 1959 the museum received the incredible gift of 53 Baroque and Renaissance paintings and sculptures from Samuel H. Kress, which later became the Kress Foundation. The museum also features a room designed by Frank Llyod Wright. From 2010-2011 the museum underwent a $15.4 million dollar expansion project that added 7,900 square feet of new gallery space, a corner café, and a new all-glass façade on the Fifth Street entrance.

Why is the Allentown Art Museum so special?

“The Allentown Art Museum enriches the lives of our visitors by engaging, informing, and inspiring them through important works of visual art. By challenging the imagination and stimulating intellectual interest, the museum points the way to a wide world of visual excellence by opening up dazzling new possibilities to everyone who chooses to spend time with us. Art is fundamental to our shared humanity and has the power to reshape human experience.”
