Code.org: The Teacher

Code.org, at its core, is a teaching function.  It strives to enable people to learn code.  Whatever its advocacy aspects are fall a bit short of its primary goal to teach people the basics of coding.

Code.org is designed so that a beginner with absolutely no coding experience whatsoever can log on to the website and start coding with little to no prompting.  This structure is crucial to how Code.org can successfully accomplish its goal to be able to teach people how to code in an hour.

Code.org is not going to teach someone everything.  As this section will share, Code.org uses a very basic programming language to teach its users the bare bones of code.  While it has its roots in Java, it does not teach people about Java.  Its focus is on making sure that new coders can say what they want to say without having to learn the grammar of the language.
