Your Music, My Music, Our Music: Cincinnati Women Musicians at King Records and Today

Kay Adams

Very few people know that Kay Adams, well-known for her contributions to the Bakersfield Sound in the 1960s, recorded at King Records almost a decade earlier. Her King songs included a cover of Little Willie John's "All Around the World" in 1955.
In 1965 Adams won the award for Top New Female Vocalist at the first Academy Country Music Awards, and in 1966 she recorded her biggest hit, "Little Pink Mack."
