Chicana Linearity

Disrupting the concept of linearity

Chicanas are not always linear, but are not non-linear--we disrupt the idea of linearity, introducing another way to consider it--even as an atemporal linearity. In other words, threads exist over time, but are not permanent and always fleeting, morphing into some other thread, then gone. This concept demonstrates how we (both Chicanas, and women of color) process everything. It's like everything is happening at once, simultaneously but not without threads, but the threads are not permanent lines--they are more like lightning. In other words, you see the bolt, formed by the friction of clouds, the energy reaches to the earth, expends itself, changing whatever it comes in contact with by shifting the energy of itself, or expending itself and then it is gone. The connections here (in this model) demonstrate rapid, moving, fluid, changing (each time you rotate the surface, looking at it at eye level) and with time, immediately recognizable. there are as  many possibilities for relationships as there are relationships with possibility.
