Biography: Rogers F. O'Neill was the son of Capt. Francis O'Neill, and was a noted fiddle player. He died tragically at the age of 19. After his death, Chief O'Neill removed all music from his house.
We are unsure of the hand that wrote this inscription, nor of the hand that crafted the signature.
Provenance: From the personal collection of Mary Lesch, who writes, "I inherited the book in 1990 from my great aunt, Mary A. O'Neill, O'Neill's daughter."
