Staying focused amidst uncertainties

(The pandemic) … has messed so many (plans) I have lined up for this year.  Sometimes I shut out from all the scary rise in number of cases I hear every day.

I spend long hours on call with my close friends and relatives.

(About effects of the pandemic: )  Not much has changed because I was unemployed before the pandemic started.
I just have a simple desk, a laptop computer and an iPad.

I learnt how to use Collaborate Ultra to teach and to receive virtual lectures.

I think it has made virtual learning easier.

(About supporting students:)  I make sure I reach out to them via email if I notice a drop in their academic performance.

(About engaging with colleagues:)  Most via Zoom and email.

(About new technologies that are helpful:)  Microsoft Whiteboard

(About “superpowers” I have that help me cope:)   The ability to stay focused in the midst of all the uncertainties.

(About the “new normal”:)  Things will not really go back to the way it used to be.

(About preparing for future pandemics:)  Invest more into online teaching and learning. There are new opportunities if virtual learning is improved on.
