“Little House on the Prairie”

(About how outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19 has affected life:)   My prayers are with anyone who was personally impacted by this event, and I don't mean to make light of the horrific events across the globe, but for me personally, covid brought my family together even closer than I thought possible. I have 15, 13 and 10 year old kids that were so busy we were eating together maybe once a week. During covid, we spent the first 100 days eating every single dinner together, and I saw two teenagers who were separating from the family and each other come back together, become friends again and spending more time together. My wife and i have enjoyed this "Little House on the Prairie" experience. Again, for my friends and family who have lost jobs and for anyone that was sick or lost loved ones, I don't mean to gloat, but as for me and my house, this was a blessing.

(About handling the uncertainty of SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19:)  We had to hand our older kid's schedules to them. We sat them down, said, "You have to take care of your own schedule...let us know if you need a ride". They have done great.

(About handling stress in these times:)  Same as always, do what I can and don't worry about what I can't control.

(About the effects of the pandemic on work life:)  I work remotely. I live in KC but my work is in DC. For me the pandemic sent the people I work with home, so for the first time, we were all on the same playing field.

(About a home office:)  I do, but my wife came home too, so we had to build her a temporary space in the formal dining room. We are about 40 feet from each other, but we still have to be careful not to be too loud.

(About new approaches to online teaching and learning:)  I have been teaching on line for many years. I really haven't had to change anything.

Note: This response was partial, with some of the questions not continued.
