About future pandemics: “No preparing for this”

(About the outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19 affecting life:)  Yes, changed my routines and patterns.

I check the case numbers several times daily and monitor new twice daily.

Am relying on my Christian faith even more with more time in prayer and studying the Bible

(About pandemic effects on work life:)  Working from home. Teaching online.

(About a home office:)  Not really and probably need one.

(About new approaches to online teaching and learning:)  Lots of breakout rooms and 1 on 1 zoom calls.

(About effects of video conferencing and Zoom on life and work:)  Getting comfortable with zoom but still miss the face to face interaction.

(About efforts to support students:)  Emails and zooms are way up.

(About engaging colleagues:)  Missing that interaction. We occasionally zoom but not enough.

(About helpful new technologies:)  Flipgrid is one I will try for getting students to participate more.

(About “superpowers” to cope with current challenges:)  None but I seem to appreciate people and the small things in life more.

(About expectations for the “new normal”:)  No idea but I think school will not fully return to old ways.

(About memories from this time:)  I will have many memories. Most sad.

(About preparing for future pandemics:)  No preparing for this.
