A group of high school students doing work-study program in farming and gardening. This urban agricultural program has been in place for more than 20 years and has employed more than 1000 students who work in urban farms. Students work during the growing season to learn how to raise crops and then sell what they produce at farmers markets and farm stands. Each student is given a four foot by eight foot plot of land to grow produce for their home also.
There are so many benefits to this program:
New Friendships
Learning life long sustainability skills including agricultural practices, farming and a greener healthier life.
