Chris Mariola is an Eagle Scout and a student at Cleveland Institute of Art. Enjoying the outdoors and living things made the Botanical Gardens a great choice for a project. As a volunteer at the Geauga Fresh Farmers Market for nearly five years, the agricultural world and the Botanical Gardens are important to my personal beliefs. The Green Corps and their mission is a project with significant impact to the local community. Initially when taking this project on, I didn’t realize that the Botanical Gardens supported community farming efforts. My research for this project allowed me to explore areas that I never knew existed.  As a result of this I have a renewed interest in being further involved with the Botanical Garden.
