♦Brian Eno's path into 'generative' music was not painless. Literally. In 1975 he was in a terrible car accident that led him to be bedridden for several months. His time lying in bed he began to realize the unique relationship with sounds and music to light. This was the unfortunate circumstance that introduced a beautiful realm of music. However, Brian Eno is no stranger to the music scene. Eno joined Roxy Music in the 1970's after graduating in Fine Arts. Eno has worked with a plethora of artists such as David Bowie, Harold Budd, Coldplay, Paul Simon, and U2. If that collaboration doesn't show the caliber of his talent, Eno is known as an avant-garde experimenter and media theorist. Eno also had commercial success as a producer and a creator of multi-sensory art installations. His 'generative' music has been in the works since the beginning of his career, but as technology continued to develop, it allowed his work to transform unlike ever before.

♦Eno has teamed up with software designer and musician Peter Chilvers to develop the Bloom application available in the Apple App Store for the iPad and iPhone. This application is one of four applications the duo has produced. Bloom combines artwork, music composition, and audience participation in order to create unique, ambient melodies each time the app is used. Bloom has 12 different mood settings available, random mood shuffling, evolve when idle, and even a sleep timer setting to fall asleep to the soothing sounds of Bloom.
