This project has several goals: to collect all of the names of Black students who have existed on campus, to understand where Black students have came from, to help understand some of the challenges that Black students faced on and off of campus, and to recognize Black students who have had extraordinary success after and on campus. Another very important goal of this project is to make information about Black Barnard students more accessible. Information has been collected from physical and digital archival information about students on campus. This project will shed light on what being Black at Barnard means and hopes that each medium displayed can serve as a resource for the Barnard community at large.
