Riddle Jr. attended Los ANgeles City College before serving in the air force. Upon his return, he began studies at CSULA where he received technical training in art and focussed on teaching ceramics. Riddle's work was centralized mostly around assemblage and was very inspired to use materials from the Watts Riots and materials like the debris that was left behind after the riots were through.
