David Bradford Arrives to Oakland

David Bradford is a muralist, painter, and printmaker. In 1969 he became the director of the West Oakland Development Center where he worked on a traveling museum project with the purpose of exposing world art to Oakland youth. In this photograph, Bradford holds two artifacts from the Oakland Museum's warehouse collection. After several years as director, Bradford became a professor at Laney College in Oakland.
