They opened the gallery just two years after the Watts Uprising (about which Dale Davis has spoken), and the gallery served as the launch pad for a wide range of African American artists and community organizations within the African American community in Los Angeles. The gallery was located at 4334 Degnan Blvd., Los Angeles, and operated from 1967 until 1990.
