Benjamin Franklin's story

Notes on text

This project for American Literature Seminar  takes a closer look into a selection of Benjamin Franklin's pieces of writing. These pieces include Silence Dogood letters 5,9,13, and 14 which were published from 1722-1723. Another piece of work by Franklin that is being examined is the Way to Wealth, which was published in 1758.
The Dogood texts, along with other pieces of Franklin's work were received from Yale University's library online. Yale University was picked for its vast library on the topic of Benjamin Franklin, as well as the amount of source material they had on him as well.

Changes within the text include minor spelling changes, such as random capital letter being lowercased, and the spelling of words into their modern variant. These changes were made to give a "face lift" to classic text while making it digestible to the modern reader and college student who might want to get a basic knowledge of Benjamin Franklin and what he's about without traversing through and figuring out the somewhat modernized English from Franklin's time.
