Between 1591 and 1595, eleven jigs were licensed, all but two of which are lost. Baskerville also mentions a “ballad of a newe northerne Dialogue between Will, Sone, and the warriner,” which he states was registered in 1591. See Baskerville, Elizabethan Jig, 106-07.
