Anatomy of a Literature Review

Brief review of literature employing rational addiction model

Having established the rational addiction model's potential to explain Italian theater attendance, Castiglione and Infante briefly review how and to what ends scholars have employed the model.

As they did in their central literature review, they present this information in the form of an upside-down pyramid: broad at the top and narrowing toward the subject at hand.

Our authors begin by observing that scholars have applied the rational addiction model to explain the consumption of goods seemingly far afield from theater attendance and more commonly associated with the idea of addiction: drugs, cigarettes, etc.
