Adobe Premiere Tutorial

Premiere Pro CC is the professional-grade, full-scale video editor that can do anything you can think of and more. But don’t let the name “Pro” intimidate you, because many of my students who are complete novices have been able to quickly get up to speed in Premiere Pro using this tutorial in my classes. The advantage of learning Premiere Pro is that you will never get frustrated by its limitations and because it is an industry standard that everyone uses. Plus, once you learn it, the basic logic and operations of video editing will stick with you a long time. If you have a little time to learn and an open mind about new things, Premiere Pro is the place to start.

If, however, time is really short or your computer is sluggish, Premiere Pro might be too demanding, in which case you should try something lighter like Premiere Clip or Spark Video.

Adobe Audition

Audition CC is the professional-grade, full-scale audio editor that integrates on-the-fly with the Premiere Pro video editor. I mention Audition in this chapter on audio and audio-visual production for two reasons: (1) you might want to use Audition to create a podcast instead of a video, and (2) when you adjust and edit audio in Premiere Pro, you are likely to launch into Audition.

The advantages of using Audition are that it is already part of the Creative Cloud suite of applications, and it makes intermediate audio editing for podcasts and filmmaking easy because it is seamlessly integrated. The disadvantage of Audition might be that it has to be installed and running on your computer, which could take of space and slow things down, depending on your system.

Adobe Premiere Clip

Premiere Clip is the easy-to-use video-editing solution for your mobile format. It provides the most basic functions of video editing and is easy to learn. However, if your video project becomes long, complex, or needs effects, you will want to edit on a full-size computer with Premiere Pro instead.

Adobe Spark Video

Spark Video is the easy-to-use video-editing solution for mobile or desktop editing. It provides the most basic functions of video editing and is easy to learn. However, if your video project becomes long, complex, or needs effects, you will want to edit on a full-size computer with Premiere Pro instead. Spark Video stores your projects on its own servers, in which case, your projects cannot be very long. Spark Video is good for short social media videos in particular.

Adobe Premier Pro Tutorial

Adobe Premier Pro is the professional-grade, full-scale video editor that can do anything you can think of and more.  But don’t let the name “Pro” intimidate you, because many of my students who are complete novices have been able to quickly get up to speed in Premier Pro using this tutorial in my classes.  The advantage of learning Premier Pro is that you will never get frustrated by its limitations and because it is an industry standard that everyone uses.  Plus, once you learn it once, the basic logic and operations of video editing will stick with you a long time.  If you have a little time to learn and an open mind about new things, Premier Pro is the place to start.

If, however, time is really short or your computer is sluggish, Premier Pro might be too demanding, in which case you should try something lighter like Adobe Premier Clip or Spark Video.

Adobe Audition Tutorial

Adobe Audition is the professional-grade, full-scale audio editor that integrates on-the-fly with the Adobe Premier Pro video editor.  I mention Adobe Audition in this chapter on Audio and Audio-Visual production for two reasons: (1) you might want to use Audition to create a podcast instead of a video, and (2) when you adjust and edit audio in Premier Pro, you are likely to launch into Adobe Audition.

The advantages of using Adobe Audition are thus that it is already part of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of applications, and it makes intermediate audio editing for podcasts and filmmaking easy because it is seamlessly integrated.  The disadvantage of Audition might be that it has to be installed and running on your computer, which could take of space and slow things down, depending on your system.

Adobe Premier Clip

Adobe Clip is the easy-to-use video editing solution for your mobile format.  It provides the most basic functions of video editing and is easy-to-learn.  However, if your video project become long, complex, or needs effects, you will want to edit on a full-size computer with Premier Pro instead.

Adobe Spark Video

Adobe Spark is the easy-to-use video editing solution for your mobile or desktop editing.  It provides the most basic functions of video editing and is easy-to-learn.  However, if your video project become long, complex, or needs effects, you will want to edit on a full-size computer with Premier Pro instead. Spark Video stores your projects on its own servers, in which case, your projects cannot be very long.  Spark Video is good for short social media videos in particular
