Day 2 - February 2nd - Tuesday

The protest continued on the next day, February 2nd. However, at this time, an amnesty (or an official pardon for people who have been convicted of political offenses) was set for noon on that Tuesday. Because of the delays in the administrations' responses to the students' demands, the amnesty was extended to 5pm, then to midnight. Throughout these extensions, the college presidents met with certain representatives from the Liberation through Education group to discuss negotiations towards the demands issued that Monday.

Once dusk fell, more than 200 students were camped outside of Alexander Hall. Yet, not all the supporters were students. Professors and other community members also contributed to the protest by giving teach-ins and advice speeches to the students outside of the building.

Timeline

Tuesday

9:15am: More students marched from Scott Hall to Alexander Hall.
3pm: Student representatives/leaders meet with the College administrators to begin negotiations about the demands, issues and concerns.
8pm: Demonstrations begin again.
10:30pm: More negotiations continue.

Wednesday
12:45am on Wednesday: Final negotiations were settled.
