Watchmen

Translation: watchmen. The position of watchman originated in the 1860s with the Roman Catholic Durieu system. According to Kennedy and Bouchard, Elsie Paul’s great-uncle mɑksɛmɑ (Sandy Timothy) was one of the last watchmen in the community, and her great-grandfather Captain Timothy was the last church captain.
