Tactical Media Performance

Rita Raley defines tactical media practice as "the intervention and disruption of a dominant semiotic regime [involving] the temporary creation of a situation in which signs, messages, and narratives are set into play, and critical thinking becomes possible" (Tactical Media, 6). Raley adds that tactical media aims to intervene in the field of the symbolic which is the ground of power in the postindustrial era.
